Plus XXX to install SSL's XL 9000 K Series console

Plus XXX, Claude Sahakian's studios in Paris, is to install Solid State Logic's (SSL) recently introduced XL 9000 K Series SuperAnalogue console.
The 88-channel XL, scheduled for installation in July, replaces the SL 9072 J Series console in Studio 2, originally installed in 1996.
Mr Sahakian said: "In order to attract some of the world's most successful talent, it's important to provide cutting-edge technology, in a comfortable and creative environment," he said.
"The XL is a natural evolution of the SL 9000, one of the world's most sought-after consoles, and one that has enjoyed considerable popularity in Studio 2. With XL we are anticipating the increasing significance of new higher resolution audio formats to our clients - as well as the continued importance of surround sound.
"We have invested heavily in SSL equipment in the past and that has paid off, both in terms of repeat business and by attracting new clients," he added.
Located to the north east of central Paris, in the 19th arrondissment, Plus XXX studios is four-studio complex. In 1988, Mr Sahakian added a second floor to Plus XXX which houses the completely self-contained Studio 2, with its 150 square-metre live area and equally light and spacious control room.
In 1996 Studio 2 was completely overhauled and an SL 9072 J Series console installed, complete with multi-channel monitoring suitable for DVD & surround mixing. The control room, also hosting an array of outboard gear, gives access to an air-conditioned machine room featuring a combination of digital and analogue equipment - including Sony PCM 3348 HR, Studer A820 Dolby SR, and 64 ProTools HD with Euphonics A/D D/A.
