Signiant And On Demand Group Team on Digital Media For On-Demand Television

Signiant, a leading developer of content supply chain management solutions, has announced that it has partnered with On Demand Group (ODG), a wholly owned subsidiary of SeaChange International and a leading worldwide provider of video-on-demand (VOD) and transactional television services, to bring On Demand Group customers a seamless, global platform for management and distribution of digital media.
On Demand Group has implemented the Signiant solution to manage and accelerate transfer of media content, such as large video files of movies and television programmes and metadata files both internally and with its customers.
Andrew Bolton, Chief Operating Officer, On Demand Group, said: "As the means of moving data through every aspect of our operational processes, Signiant is a critical part of our workflow. Unlike other software providers that offer just WAN acceleration, Signiant provides the full central management capability that we need from file delivery software. We need to be able to control the content and metadata files from ingest through to client delivery. Signiant enables us to do this and to ensure the content is secure and delivered completely every time."
On Demand Group provides its customers with a turnkey solution for VOD offerings that combines service development and operation, product research and specification, content acquisition, content service management, television advertising and promotion production, performance analysis and service integration.
Signiant reinforces On Demand Group's strategy for digital workflow and content management that enables video content and metadata to move smoothly from studio and other suppliers, though internal operations, and on to On Demand Group's VOD and pay-television clients. Signiant's content management keeps all parties up to date on the location and stated of files in transit and providers powerful proof-of-delivery and key performance indicator (KPI) reports.
David Nortier, Managing Director of Signiant Europe, said: "As the demand for VOD and other types of interactive content delivery continues to explode worldwide, service providers and media companies alike will need powerful capabilities for managing and distributing their VOD content, and that's where Signiant comes in. On Demand Group has a tremendous global presence in the VOD arena, so we are very pleased to be teaming with the company to help streamline its content delivery capabilities. Plus, we're proud to say that the Signiant platform has already been adopted by almost 20 of On Demand Group's highest profile clients and suppliers - a list that reads like a who's who of broadcasters, media and entertainment companies."
