Vizada Networks Signs Newtec Partnership Deal

A company that offers solutions for broadcast, broadband access and backbone and trunking applications, Newtec, has announced that it is extending its partnership with global satellite communications and telecommunications specialist Vizada Networks to introduce further developments on delivering IP trunking via satellite.
The system will be based on the state-of-the-art Newtec Elevation product family of professional equipment, specifically designed to optimise the efficiency and performance of IP applications over satellite.
Vizada Networks currently provides satellite IP services to remote sites around the globe with its JanUX platform. JanUX is currently deployed in Version 5 to hundreds of active remote sites.
Vizada Networks has been delivering its services to telecom carriers and ISPs, multinational companies, government, military and humanitarian aid organizations.
Under the partnership agreement, Newtec and Vizada Networks will collaborate on the development of the next generation of JanUX, which will incorporate Newtec's Elevation EL940 IP satellite receiver and EL170 IP Modulator along with other technologies developed by Newtec and Vizada Networks.
This highly integrated system will allow greater efficiency and availability, as well as offer centralized management, monitoring and surveillance. It will also provide a flexible platform for further integration of value-added services to support customer requirements.
The Elevation EL940 is a high-performance receiver designed for the reception of IP traffic transmitted over satellite in compliance with the DVB-S2 standards. The EL940 connects directly to terrestrial IP network infrastructures via a single auto-switching Gigabit Ethernet interface.
The receiver demodulates, restores and filters the data received from the satellite at rates of up to 154 Mbit/s optimised for applications that require a low initial investment without compromising on performance to ensure the highest service availability.
"This agreement marks the continuation of collaboration between two leading independent players in the satellite industry," said Stefano Vittor, Chief Executive Officer of Vizada Networks.
"With the combination of expertise in our two organisations we expect to deliver significant advances to our customers and the global communications marketplace.
"Vizada Networks has a high-quality worldwide business with a comprehensive range of services," said Serge Van Herck, Chief Executive Officer of Newtec.
"By working together to develop the next generation of IP trunking solutions, Newtec and Vizada will establish new benchmarks for value and performance in this application."
