Blakeway Investigates Madoff For This World

A Ten Alps company, Blakeway Productions, has been commissioned to produce Madoff, a special for BBC Two's International Current Affairs Strand This World.
The documentary follows the son of Bill Foxton, a UK victim of Bernie Madoff's $50 billion dollar fraud, as he explores the impact the crime has had around the world, on investors ranging from Hollywood celebrities to schools, mulitnational banks to those living on modest means.
In December 2008, Wall Street's Bernie Madoff was revealed as the man operating a Ponzi scheme which defrauded thousands of investors. One of his victims was the highly-decorated former solider Bill Foxton, who shot himself in Southampton following the loss of his life savings.
His son, Willard Foxton, journeys to America the answer the key questions in the Madoff case - why wasn't he stopped? Where has the money gone? Who else was involved?

Madoff was directed by Roger Corke and executive produced by Fiona Stourton for Blakeway Productions.
It was commissioned by Lucy Hetherington for BBC2. The documentary is due to air in June when Madoff is due to be sentenced.
