Nexus Sign Brazilian Director CISMA

Leading production company, Nexus, have announced that they have signed the radical and uncompromising talent of Brazilian director CISMA.
Otherwise known as Denis Kamioka, CISMA, which is Portuguese for a "strong and irrational conviction", has lived up to his adopted name and has a reputation for pushing creative boundaries to their limits. Effortlessly combining what would seem to be polar opposite visual styles, CISMA's creative work speaks a universal language.
Born to Japanese parents in Brazil, CISMA's career to date has reflected the diverse influences of both cultures. From initial studies in mechanical engineering, CISMA was drawn to the other end of the career spectrum and began graffiti writing and hanging out with well-known graffiti artists Felipe Yung and Herbert Baglione, a creative experience which made him consider art more seriously, and he was soon working as an illustrator for Brazilian magazines.
CISMA's creativity went into orbit from that point and his career has seen him move from motion design at Brazilian studio Lobo, to creating the new MTV Brazil identity and working for the creative department of top fashion brand, Diesel, in Italy.
Although currently living in Brazil, CISMA moved to Barcelona in 2005 as a director and has worked on high profile campaigns for Wieden + Kennedy, Goodby Silverstein and McCann Erickson using his amazing range of styles and techniques in spots such as those for NBA, where he slickly blends cultures, using street-style animation set against Japanese-style woodblock backgrounds.
Always striving to push ahead creatively, CISMA's recent work now focuses on live action and his recently released shot Handmade is a stunning testament to his gifts as a director. A wistful tale of unrequited love, the dreamlike quality engages every sense, through music, pace - right down to the use of chromatic colour to create a powerful visual mood. CISMA's talent as a director is also showcased in his soon to be released short film for Adobe, which was commissioned to demonstrate the amazing new toolset of Adobe's new Suite 4 Production Premium.
