Dielectrics Brazilian Presence To Radiate Stronger

News Image
Dielectric's Brazilian presence is about to radiate stronger through a new partnership with Foccus Digital that expand Dielectric's broadcast business throughout the country.

The companies will join forces to supply a broad array of TV and FM radio projects including low-power systems, with Foccus Digital’s full-service approach across distribution, integration, and local service establishing closer business relationships for all.

Dielectric and Foccus Digital will celebrate the new partnership at SET Expo beginning tomorrow through Thursday (August 19-21), where Dielectric will preview a new ATSC 3.0 antenna and filter developed for the Brazilian DTV market. Foccus Digital exhibits at Booth 33C in the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo.

Dielectric has long been a leader supplier of high-power ISDB-Tb and analog TV antenna systems in Brazil. Foccus Digital's reputation as over-the-air experts will introduce the Dielectric brand into more broadcast operations, expanding its FM market share and opening the door to early ATSC 3.0 trials. Dielectric's development of a new specialized ATSC 3.0 antenna will support Foccus Digital’s efforts for the latter, providing their in-country sales with a dual-input solution built to deliver "TV 3.0" services within Brazil’s 300MHz band. Dielectric's new TEM Series MIMO antenna will adapt the same horizontal and vertical polarization ratio of its other ATSC 3.0 antennas to improve mobile penetration and increase data throughout.

"Foccus Digital has installed thousands of TV and radio transmitters throughout Brazil, and works closely with customers to specify and service complete broadcast systems," said Daniel Bizet, International Sales Manager, Dielectric. "Dielectric's reputation for quality, longevity and performance is well established in Brazil, and Foccus Digital’s full-service team of sales, engineering and service professionals will help us extend our brand recognition and find new growth opportunities."

Foccus Digital has in fact already won new UHF business for Dielectric, including a fully pressurized mountaintop antenna, and a coastal FM SFN system in Florianópolis, the capital of Santa Catarina.

"This is a SFN with a main station and several lower-power sites with GatesAir transmitters and networking equipment, and Dielectric offered a perfect technical solution to transmit broadcast content to very specific areas of the city without any signal overlap," said Cesar Donato, President of Foccus Digital. "It's just one example of the wide variety of UHF and FM products that they offer to compete in Brazil, strengthened through attractive pricing. Dielectric will also clearly innovate for Brazilian broadcasters based on the introduction of a new antenna for the 300MHz spectrum, which Brazil has cleared for TV 3.0 services. We look forward to unveiling out go-to-market strategy to the Brazilian industry at SET Expo."
