Russia Gets JimJim Kids Programming

Global pre-school TV channel JimJam, a joint venture between Chellomedia and HIT Entertainment, is expanding its reach across Russia with a new launch planned on the region's largest satellite platform, NTV-PLUS.
JimJam, which is dubbed into the local language, first launched into Russia in recent months on the Akado platform.
The NTV-Plus launch will take JimJam into approximately an additional 250,000 households in Russia as part of the platform's extended basic package.
JimJam will also be included in the new family package for subscribers which NTV-Plus successfully launched in September, 2008.
"We are thrilled that JimJam is proving a success in Russia and NTV-Plus is now offering the channel to its subscribers.
"The channel presents a truly compelling mix of entertainment and life values for young viewers, we are positive that NTV-Plus' young subscribers and families will welcome the magic of JimJam," said General Manager of JimJam, Wayne Dunsford.
The General Manager of NTV-PLUS, Dmitry Samokhin commented: "We are always enhancing and growing our channel offering and we are delighted to start co-operation with JimJam - the channel programmes are highly valued by European viewers."
Since the joint venture partners joined forces in December 2007, JimJam is one of the fastest growing channels, rolling out in over 20 territories across Europe and the Middle East with further territory launches scheduled throughout the year. JimJam is available to cable operators through three feeds - Italy, Pan Europe and the Middle East and dubbed into the local language.
Ideally suited for children aged between one and six, JimJam offers a rich mix of programming which is designed to engage, educate and provide a safe and trusted viewing environment for young children.
