Atlantik Film Chooses EQ

Film postproduction house Atlantik Film in Hamburg, part of the pan-German CinePostproduction group, has purchased a Quantel eQ finishing system.
The eQ is configured with nine hours of HD workspace and equipped with Quantel's powerful new MME (multiple Media Engine) technology, dramatically speeding processing heavy tasks.
Atlantik Films chose the eQ after extensive testing in May this year. Key reasons for their choice included the eQ's ability to integrate seamlessly into Atlantik Film's tapeless workflow, its superior performance and its ability to accept offline material and its associated metadata direct from their SAN.
Atlantik Film's eQ will be used primarily in the post production of feature films. One of Atlantik's specialities is working with log scans from HD telecine, which produces end-results that compare very favourably on screen with material produced through 2K data pipelines but at a much lower cost, making this technique ideal for low-budget productions.
Quantel's eQ is a creative all-rounder for post production, combining the highest quality editing, effects, compositing, colour grading and deliverables production tools into a single powerful and highly productive system.
Hundreds of eQs are in use around the world with post houses and broadcasters, working on everything from commercials, idents and promos to longform dramas and feature film digital intermediates.
