Unitel to use Quantel eQ and QColour to extend HD film work

Multi-award winning Philippines production company Unitel has finished commissioning an eQ and QColor so that it can take full advantage of shooting in High Definition.
The Manila-based company is using eQ and QColor, along with its Panasonic Varicam, to expand its control over the entire creative process and venture into exciting new areas for both commercials and its own film projects.
Unitel, and its sister company Optima, has been at the heart of the creative community in the Philippines for 17 years, but it is now that company President Tony Gloria sees technology liberating it to “break the chains which tied us to film.”
“With eQ and QColor we can manage the whole process from off-line to grading our own film,” Gloria said. “We are not relying on the film lab, which saves time and money. The speed and flexibility of generationQ products give Unitel freedom to cut the chains that bind us. We are now in control of the entire creative process.
“I believe eQ is the most flexible and fastest machine for multi-resolution editing. eQ has an easy link from Final Cut Pro that makes workflow much easier for us, and the directors really enjoy all the plug-ins that are available now that Quantel is such an open platform.”
