Hamlet release Protean 292X signal generator

Hamlet have launched what they believe to be "the smallest HD video and embedded audio test signal generator in the world".
Measuring 6" x 4" x 1", and weighing less than 1lb, the Protean 292X provides 16 different serial digital test patterns, all fully compliant with SMPTE requirements.
The test patterns, including bars, sweep, bowtie, circle and ramps, are user selectable at any of ten frame rates.
The unit also incorporates a moving pattern path activity test signal, and luminance and chrominance components are individually enabled, allowing for comprehensive system testing.
The Protean 292X has two simultaneous outputs, while a built-in embedded audio generator enables circuits to be tested. A 16 character alphanumeric message can be inserted into any test signal, allowing the device to be used to identify and confirm individual circuits.
The device is powered by internal nickel metal hydride batteries, and is supplied with a 6V dc mains power supply, which acts as both charger and power source when used in the workshop. A full charge of the internal batteries is sufficient to power the device for an hour's continuous operation.
To augment the capabilities, Hamlet can provide a bespoke, customising service with user defined patterns programmed in if required.
Completing this convenient package a carry case is also available as an option.
