Tektronix To Demonstrate Video And Audio Test Solutions At Broadcast LIVE & VideoForum 2008

Tektronix, a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation will demonstrate a broad range of video and audio test solutions and reprise its highly successful educational seminars at Broadcast LIVE & VideoForum 2008, which takes place at Earls Court 2, London from 30 January – 1 February 2008.
Tektronix will demonstrate hardware and software solutions for SD and HD, and will address the challenges presented by emerging trends such as IPTV and the progression to Dual Link SDI technology.
Product highlights on the Tektronix stand K38 include the PQA500 Picture Quality Analyzer, an award-winning new generation picture quality analysis tool that incorporates eight new Tektronix patents and embodies the most comprehensive human vision model yet implemented, and Cerify, the world's first fully automated system capable of verifying the quality of file-based, compressed digital video and audio content prior to transmission or use. Visitors will also see demonstrations of the TG700 multiformat video generator, WFM7120 waveform monitor and WVR7120 waveform rasteriser.
Tektronix presented some of the most popular educational seminars at last year’s Broadcast Live event, with overflow crowds wanting to learn about Video and Audio Measurement. In response to this high demand, Tektronix has updated the original seminar for 2008 with additional material covering camera set-ups, and has also added two further sessions on Quality Control (QC) and new SDI interfaces (Dual Link and 3Gbit/s):
  • Video and Audio Measurement in Production and Post is designed for broadcast engineers, engineers of post-production facilities, camera operators and technicians, and NLE operators, editors and colourists. This seminar provides the necessary background to produce material that is compliant to specifications of the television industry.
  • Maintaining Quality in File-based Video examines the three layers of file-based video, typical errors that can occur and how Cerify, Tektronix´ file-based QC tool, efficiently and effectively verifies that the created file meets the requirements of all three layers. This session is aimed at heads of post-production, chief engineers and QC engineers.
  • Transitioning to 1080p/50 is also a must for all those concerned with the build, setup and maintenance of high performance post facilities producing state of the art high definition content in RGB 4:4:4 or 1080p/50. It covers the reasons for moving to higher speed links and examines Dual Link and 3Gbits/s.
The courses take place on Thursday 31 January and free places are available to book on the day. Attendees are advised to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, Tektronix has operations in 19 countries worldwide. For more information:
