Focus Enhancements Demonstrate ProxSys HD Video On Demand System At IBC 2007
Focus Enhancements, a worldwide leader in media management and Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless technology, announced that it plans to demonstrate a innovative and exciting HD Video on Demand (VOD) System built upon its successful suite of ProxSys Media Asset Management solutions.
Architected specifically for ProxSys, the database-driven VOD system offers customers powerful and feature-rich capabilities not found in other systems including the ability to search, manage and instantly retrieve content based upon customer-specified metadata. These capabilities are truly unique to the ProxSys solution. In addition, remote-desktop capability is provided so content can be created, modified, uploaded, and scheduled remotely.
The ProxSys VOD system, along with Focus’ industry-leading HD workflow, will be showcased at IBC 2007 in Amsterdam, (stand 9.441) at the Amsterdam RAI from September 7-11.
“The ProxSys VOD system is a natural extension of our Media Asset Management systems,” said Robert Caldeira, senior product manager for Focus Enhancements. “We are excited about the VOD system because we have received strong market demand for the unique feature set that it offers. This system addresses true customer needs where other VOD systems of this level fall short.”

- Distribution of live or stored media from ProxSys Media Server to dedicated set top boxes and/or client software-based players via unicast and/or multicast streaming
- Remote desktop capability
- MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, and H.264 video formats
- PowerPoint, JPEG, PNG, GIF with slideshow control and editing features
- Create and present HTML-based slide shows
- Live lecture and event capturing and archive
- Closed captioning and subtitle support
