Wood & Douglas Behind Successful Tender For BBC Arabic Television Service

With a planned launch in the autumn of 2007, work is proceeding at a pace to install ultra modern broadcasting facilities at the newsly refurbished Broadcasting House building in the West End of London. The BBC Arabic TV channel will broadcast to the Middle East and North Africa.
Dega Broadcast Systems won the tender for the prestigious design and implementation work. In turn, they turned to Wood & Douglas for the wirelss talkback system design and equipment supply.
BBC Arabic TV Service will provide content to TV, Radio and Online as well as mobile devices. Operating over two floors, each has specially developed TV and multi-media studios and an open plan live floor allowing for very flexible working.
Eight channels of interference free wireless talkback and solid coverage over both floors are essential. Wood & Douglas has designed a bespoke combiner/splitter/amplifier arrangement to provide clean, intermodulation-free talkback rardio channels over the entire area. Installation is currently underway.
For this project, Wood & Douglas Ltd has supplied Symphony wireless talkback base units as well as SOLO asnd DUO portable talkback packs.
