Drake International Film Festival To Commence In June
The inaugural Drake International Film Festival will take place in the Royal Palace 'Vanvitelliana' of Caserta, on June 23 to 30.
The event, conceived and produced by the director Francesco De Lorenzo, the President of 'Darkness Production Ltd.', has been created with the aim of promoting the diffusion of digital and independent cinema. It is supported by the establishment of the 'Italian Film Market', where buyers and sellers from around the world will have the chance to meet and do business.
'DIFF' will present a selection of 12 films in main competition - either World Premieres or films that have not yet screened in public outside their country of origin or in Italy; a further selection of six films from around the world, and an additional competitive section of six films by first or second time directors.
The Festival will focus its attention on the new and innovative - subjects like the great potential of digital technology - with the aim of encouraging young talent, as well as creating new growth and expansion for the Italian film market.
The Event programme will feature screenings and meetings with cinema personalities, held at the 'Royal Site Belvedere of S. Leucio', with the 'Reggia Vanvitelliana' providing a beautiful setting for the red carpet, press conferences and screenings of films in and out of Competition.
Diff 2007 will be held under the patronage of: Campania Regional Body, District of Caserta, Municipality of Caserta, Chamber of Commerce of Caserta, District Tourism Body.
The media partners of this First Edition will be Ciak, Rai Sat Cinema World, Rai Sat Premium, Rai Sat Extra, Planet, Radio Monte Carlo, Play Radio e Rosso Alice.
