Rushes Purchase Fusion Licences

Rushes have recently purchased five Fusion licences to bolster their compositing capability within the Rushes Film & TV and Rushes 3D Departments.
The node-based compositor combines the benefits of an integrated 2D and 3D multi-processor architecture with an advanced collaborative workflow management system. It also boasts impressive features to streamline the workflow and post production capabilities which include: dramatically speeding up the performance of retouching and general painting, new tools for projection and geometry manipulation such as bending and displacement and new organisational improvements to help layout compositions.
Jonathan Privett, Head of 3D at Rushes, said: "The demise of Apple’s Shake package has forced us to look at alternate solutions to our growing need for compositing in Film & TV. We tested a number of products but Fusion was clearly more highly featured than the competitors and fitted into our existing Linux pipeline."
Hayden Jones, VFX supervisor, added: "What really impressed me about Fusion was the 3D functionality; it opens up a myriad of creative possibilities and allows some 3D workload to be pushed back into compositing."
Fusion is already in production on a landmark TV project and has been used to complete a number of concept shots that were beyond the toolset available within Shake.
