Telecast supply BBC & ABC

BBC Outside Broadcasts have recently taken delivery of three Telecast 'CopperHead' fibre optic camera control units, supplied by Mi Broadcast.
They are fitted to Sony DNW 90D Camcorders and provide all the usual remote control features, including program video (SDI), genlock and reverse viewfinder feed. The cameras are deployed in a Compact Production Unit designed for fast turnaround operation. Connection to the vehicle is by tactical fibre optic cable, which is both strong and lightweight, making it easy to rig. Each CopperHead has a 1U base station, which connects to an RMP 9 remote control panel.
CopperHead is a universal remote control system for most types of ENG camera, only the connecting cables defining the particular model of camera and RCP.
Additionally, the Digital version can send either SDI or HD SDI to the base station providing a system for the future as well as today.
The London bureau of ABC News have also taken delivery of three CopperHead systems to control their Ikegami HLV59W cameras.
CopperHead's lightweight cable and fast deployment made it the choice for ABC News crews who operate worldwide.
The BBC and ABC are major users of Telecast equipment and the ABC order also included a Telecast "Viper" system.
