Tern TV Celebrate Sale Of Three Factual-Entertainment Series

UK independent producer Tern Television is celebrating the international sale of three factual-entertainment series, originally commissioned by and produced for UKTV Style, through BBC Worldwide.
Spa of Embarrassing Illnesses, UKTV’s most successful commission of 2006, has been licensed to eight international broadcasters. The 10x60 minute series is presented by leading nutritionist and detox expert Amanda Hamilton who aims to detoxify and rejuvenate eight people suffering from embarrassing and socially stigmatised medical conditions.
In addition, the 10x60 minute series How to Find a Husband, which has been licensed to seven countries, sees presenter Sally Gray test ancient and modern dating techniques in a quest to find Mr. Right and create the ultimate dating bible for Britain’s single girls. Scrubbers, a 15x30 minute series, which aims to clean up the nation’s homes in a de-clutter blitz, has been licensed to six international broadcasters.
David Strachan, Managing Director of Tern Television commented: “Spa of Embarrassing Illnesses, already commissioned for a second series by UKTV Style and How To Find a Husband have been a great success for both Tern and UKTV. These latest sales figures demonstrate the international pulling power of original, quality programming and the value of working with a global distributor like BBC Worldwide. Tern is committed to producing high-quality factual-entertainment programming for UK audiences which will also inspire audiences internationally.”
UKTV’s Head of Commissioning, Jo Clinton-Davis added: “These international deals prove the calibre of our commissioned content across the UKTV network appeals to audiences both at home and abroad.”
Sales have been confirmed to the following territories: Spa of Embarrassing Illnesses - Korea (Q Channel); Thailand (UBC); Holland (SBS); Denmark (Kanal 4); Sweden (Kanal 5); Norway (TV2 Norway); Pan-European (Zone Broadcasting); Slovenia (Pro Plus D.O.O).
