Interactive TV On Viasat Goes Live With Technology From never.no

Active Loop Television, Norway, have supplied London-based Viasat with new interactive formats for Norwegian TV3 and ZTV, powered by software from never.no.
The formats are lowerthird overlays providing chat, quiz, slideshows and various entertainment concepts. never.no has delivered its Auto Dialogue System (ADS) and Interactivity Desk (ID), and installed Dynamic Content Scheduler (DCS) for Vizrt alongside a Vizrt CG at Viasats broadcast facility in London. The system is fully integrated with Viasats existing automation system.
"We’re very excited to have been selected as the first supplier of dynamic interactive content to the Viasat playout centre in London," said Nikolai Fasting, CEO of Active Loop Television. "The Viasat playout centre broadcasts to almost 30 channels in Scandinavia, the Baltic region, Central and Eastern Europe. We clearly see the potential for interesting projects ahead.
"TV3 traditionally has a strong position in the young adults segment, while ZTV is directed towards youth. These are the segments where acceptance of mobile communications is at its highest, and as such this is the perfect place to start," said Fasting.
"These Viasat projects represent an important endorsement for our technology and the flexibility of our tools," said Lars Lauritzsen, CEO of never.no. "Viasat is one of the world’s most advanced and forward-thinking broadcasters. Interactive components in the programming will increase perceived value for their viewers and generate new income streams. We believe this will soon become a must for all broadcasters."
Auto Dialogue System, a system for design, configuration, deployment and operation of 1-to-1 dialogue services in electronic media (particularly mobile phones).
Interactivity Desk, an editorial system for content management and moderation of all types of viewer input, simple broadcast control functions, and functions for preparation and scheduling of stored content.
Dynamic Content Scheduler is a system for frame accurate scheduling and configuration of broadcast time, and for automatic interaction with graphics systems, video servers and other content management systems, automation systems and station clocks.
Participation TV is TV where viewers participate, submit content, play, interact and influence the programming using their mobile phones or PCs. Participation TV can be run supplementary to the regular programming, or in full-screen mode. The software platform is utilized both for “moderated” and “automated” Participation TV (PTV).
In Moderated PTV, viewers publish their own content (text, images, video or sounclips). One or more moderators select, edit and accept/reject content for broadcasting.
In Automated PTV, viewers choose between various available content (video jukebox), or they participate in games, quizzes, competitions and polls.
