Tern TV's KNTV Show Recommissioned By Channel 4

Tern Television has been re-commissioned by Channel 4 to produce a second series of its Bafta nominated animation and archive programme 'The KNTV Show'.
Building on the success of the first series which focused on science (6 x 30mins, broadcast in January this year), the series has been re-commissioned for a 10 x 30 min schedule next summer.
Aimed at Channel 4 viewers aged 14-19, KNTV presents educational facts and figures through the use of comedy and animation. The new series focuses on the subject of philosophy, namely the top ten landmark philosophies seen through the eyes of animated hosts, Kierkegaard and Nietzsche.
Using Eastern European home video bloopers, the hosts present a range of philosophical facts and statistics on everything from Descartes’ Theory of Consciousness to the birth of the Atomic Age and Darwin’s Theory of Evolution.
Harry Bell, Creative Director, Tern Television said: “Tern TV has become renowned for its alternative approach to producing informative factual television. We’re really pleased to be working with Channel 4 again to provide informative factual content through the use of comedy and animation.”
Deborah Ward, Commissioning Editor, Education Channel 4, added: “In the same way that the first series took an anarchic and fun approach to science, we’re very pleased to now announce that the subject of philosophy will also get the KNTV treatment. Tern Television have managed to achieve that winning combination of taking a serious topic and not only making it accessible and educational but, perhaps more importantly, also making it very entertaining.”
KNTV Philosophy (10x24min) is a Tern Television production for Channel 4. The series is executive produced by Harry Bell, produced by Mat Masters and directed by Garry Marshall.
The series was commissioned by Deborah Ward. KNTV Philosophy is in production for delivery Summer 2007.
