TSL chosen by Yorkshire TV for conversion suite integration

Television Systems Limited (TSL), the UK-based independent broadcast systems integrator and manufacturer, have won a significant systems integration and equipment supply contract from Yorkshire Television.
The contract, arranged through the Yorkshire Television Technical Services (YTTS) department, is for the design and construction of a new, top quality, multi-format technical facility for video standards conversion.
The YTTS department produces programme tapes for consumer retail and also for re-sale on a global basis to other broadcasters.
This requires high-quality output in a wide range of formats, including IMX, D2, D5, Digital Betacam, Beta SP, U-Matic, 1"C format, S-VHS, VHS and DVD-R.
TSL are supplying a Quartz 64 x 64 SDI router, a Quartz 32 x 32 video/audio analogue router and all the digital interfacing equipment.
TSL will design and build the conversion suite at their facilities in Maidenhead and the system will be fully tested by Yorkshire staff prior to shipping and installation.
Martin Oldfield, engineering project manager with Yorkshire, said: "TSL worked for us previously on the refurbishment of our Emmerdale studios. It achieved the desired result in a particularly innovative and very successful way. It also saved us quite a bit of money in the process. We had no hesitation is choosing the company again when this project arose."
