FremantleMedia secures US premieres for UK productions

Fremantle International Distribution (FID), the distribution arm of global production outfit FremantleMedia, has announced the acquisition of a substantial package of titles by leading US digital cable and satellite channel, BBC America.
The deal encompasses a variety of UK produced titles from FID some of which will receive their US premiere via BBC America. Titles never before seen in the US include all 48 x 30’ episodes of the hit UK entertainment series, 'How Clean Is Your House?', the revealing documentary special, Beatles Biggest Secrets, and the psychological thriller, 'A Good Murder.'
Also included in the deal is the comedy series 'Hardware,' written by Simon Nye (Men Behaving Badly) and staring Martin Freeman, 'The Return,' a compelling movie drama starring Julie Walters (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Canterbury Tales) and 'Benny Hill: World’s Favourite Clown,' a fascinating insight into the life of the world-renowned comedian.
Lisa Honig, Vice President, Program Distribution North America, Fremantle International Distribution, brokered the deal and commented: “We are delighted to be working with BBC America to bring these top quality UK shows to a US audience – some for the first time on US television. BBC America remains an important outlet to find unique and compelling programming that can’t be found on other US channels.”
The dirty secrets of Britain’s filthiest homes will be revealed to US audiences in the UK version of the hit entertainment show, How Clean Is Your House?, which is produced by talkbackTHAMES, the UK production company owned by FremantleMedia. Dynamic duo Kim Woodburn and Aggie MacKenzie don their rubber gloves and dish out some valuable household advice - persuading the unhygienic, the messy and the downright disgusting to clean up their act, revealing some horrifying facts about bugs and microbes lurking in homes.
The 1 x 90’ documentary special, Beatles Biggest Secrets (a Fulcrum TV production), featuring a combination of new and exclusive interviews, provides an in-depth portrait of the world’s greatest ever pop group. Carrying explosive revelations about the extraordinary lives and behaviour of Liverpool’s favourite sons, it shows the Beatles at their best - and their worst.
