'Captain Mack' rockets onto CITV

Kickback Media has secured a 52 x 10 minute commission from CITV with a pre-school, model animation series called 'Captain Mack'.
The series is provisionally scheduled for broadcast sometime in autumn 2007. The series was commissioned by Estelle Hughes, Controller of CITV.
Kickback Media and will co-produce the series, budgeted at £4.2 million with Toronto based Cuppa Coffee Studios. Cuppa Coffee, one of the biggest model studios in the world, has produced 'JoJo’s Circus' for Disney Playhouse, 'Little People' for Mattel, 'Celebrity Death Match' for MTV and 'A Very Barry Christmas', the recent winner at Cartoons on the Bay as Best Special.
Cuppa Coffee’s Founder and President Adam Shaheen will Executive Produce the series with Kickback’s John Bullivant.
Shaheen said: “The series was by far and away the most unique of properties I had seen in the pre-school market and that has been proven by the enormously popular response broadcasters have had to the show”.
Bullivant added: “I had always felt Mack should be produced in model animation and was very excited when Adam and Cuppa Coffee came on board. They are one of the top model studios in the world and have really captured Mack’s charm and charisma.”
Kickback Media is currently handling all international sales and licensing activities. There is already very strong interest from UK toy, video and publishing companies with deals expected to be in place before production commences in September.
The series received a great response at MIPTV and several TV pre-sales are already in negotiation again with more deals to be announced shortly.
