Scorching impact of Furnace 3 plug-in

Leading visual effects developer The Foundry has announced widespread uptake of its recently released Furnace 3 plug-ins for Shake.
Since its launch in January 2006 Furnace 3 has been snapped up by many leading post houses and effects studios across the globe.
The next generation of The Foundry’s Furnace for Shake features 11 new plug-ins in addition to the existing 20, taking the complete collection to over 30 image-processing tools for digital artists, many of which automate time-consuming processes in the creation of digital visual effects.
The new release has made an impression with the world’s leading post-production companies including Weta Digital, in Wellington New Zealand, Pixion Studios – a Century Communications Ltd Group based in Mumbai, India, London’s Double Negative, Nice Shirt Films and Escape Studios, Digital Domain and Pacific Title in Los Angeles plus Animal Logic and Photon VFX in Australia who have all upgraded their existing Furnace licenses. London’s The Moving Picture Company have upgrading its existing licenses to a full site license.
Matt Welford, Compositing Sequence Lead, Weta Digital Ltd, said: “At Weta Digital, we are always pushing the limits of what we can do with visual effects. To aid us in doing this, and completing complex shots on films like The Lord of the Rings and King Kong, we require advanced digital tool sets to help us get the work done. Once again The Foundry have delivered an amazing digital tool set. Furnace has become an integral part of Weta Digital's production pipeline, and the introduction of Furnace 3 into that pipeline has confirmed its value to our work. The continued development of these tools has led to some excellent additions to the Furnace 3 tool set. With the introduction of tools like DeNoise, MatchGrade and the Furnace 3 Tracker, it will only increase how much we rely on Furnace 3 to achieve our work.”
