BSKYB SECOND LEITCH VR DIGITAL VIDEO SERVER

BRITISH Sky Broadcasting (BskyB) have specified a second Leitch VR digital video server to expand the production capacity of their Enhanced Sports coverage at Isleworth in London.
Whilst on-air the Leitch VR servers provide live compilation of multiple playlists. This is achieved with an interface solution from Leitch known as Spotbase, designed with live sports coverage in mind. This new system also includes the latest version of the Leitch NEWSFlash edit workstation, enabling live online editing during the event with access to all server-based clips instantly.
Dave Sparks Chief Engineer at BskyB said: “The architecture offered by Leitch VR Technology, using two channel VR building blocks, live editing and shared Fibre channel, gave us just what we were looking for. We can achieve simultaneous subclipping from multiple live feeds whilst Sky’s Sports editors go to work, and go straight to air with a variety of enhanced interactive services for Sky Digital customers.”
