Pebble Beach Systems at NAB

At NAB Booth SU244 Pebble Beach Systems will be showcasing significant new enhancements to its Anemone and Neptune automation products.
Pebble Beach Systems will be demonstrating improved secondary event handling. Users are now able to attach virtually an unlimited number of secondaries to each primary event in a playlist. Complex secondary requirements such as DVE moves, graphical elements, subtitling and so on can now be managed very easily.
A new intuitive user interface provides a simple means of displaying important information and avoids cluttering of playlists. Another important enhancement is the Media logger, a new low resolution media browse tool which is integrated into the standard Pebble Beach client. It enables users to browse low resolution copies of material and to identify important frames and segments, such as where commercials can be conveniently played.
Tools are provided to enable users to create standard templates to simplify workflow and to reduce the incidence of errors. The Media logger automatically saves the important frame and segment information to the database for future use.
In addition, the company will show Media Porthole and Razorfish, Pebble Beach's other media browse tools, working with Omneon ProBrowse files as well as IPV MPEG4 files. It will also demonstrate integration of archives into its automation solutions using a Sony S-AIT (Super Advanced Intelligent Tape) drive.
Visitors to the stand will also see integration with newsroom systems using the MOS protocol, together with a video server and other devices for playout of news items. This MOS interface supports rundown imports from ENPS and dynamic updates. There are also user definable fields enabling important information to be transferred from the Newsroom system to the automation system.
