BILLY ELLIOTT WINS TWO NEW AWARDS

THE number one box office hit ‘Billy Elliot’, which was partly funded with Lottery money has won the ‘Golden Hitchcock’ and the 'Audience Award' at the 10th Festival du Films Britannique de Dinard, a French festival dedicated to British Films.
At the same time 'Billy Elliot' grossed £1.72 million last weekend, and has now taken a total of £4.55 million over its ten days on release.
The film is continuing its assault on the UK box office with figures over the weekend up 12 per cent on its opening weekend, with only four more cinema screens added.
