Digital Magic selects Digital Vision's DVNR 2k Image Processor for state-of-the-art DI suite

Digital Vision, a leading developer of advanced digital media applications specialising in film and video solutions, has announced that Digital Magic, a Digital Intermediate (DI) power house based in Hong Kong, has selected a Digital Vision DVNR1000-HD RGB real time Image Processing Workstation with 2k option for its new DI suite.
Already making full use of the DVNR1000-HD system, Digital Magic will receive the 2k part of the system early in the New Year.
Digital Magic Director Percy Fung commented: "The use of Digital Vision's DVNR1000-HD RGB will be extensive, from HD444 DI work to HDCAM and HDCAM SR movie mastering. We will also use the new 2k release to support true 2k DI work. The full configuration, including the digital dirt and scratch concealment tool, works well with our other HD restoration tools to improve workflow, achieving greater sharpness and less noise.
"The new Digital Magic DI DVNR HD444 suite, which officially launched on 1st of November 2005, is in huge demand from our clients for their most creative work and is the latest real time configuration in Asia. Including a full software upgrade, the system has created a new standard and raised the bar of quality for this region's HD production.
"We are also looking into Digital Vision's Nucoda product line, which could further improve our service workflow. The current system has enhanced our movie HD master restoration work and allows local film makers to make the transition to HD and DI mastering."
He concluded: "We have been a long time SD DVNR1000 user simply because our colourists love it. The system is excellent for day-to-day colour correction for SD movie mastering work. Following a series of tests with other similar products, the DVNR1000-HD RGB proved to be the best; in fact DVNR is currently the only HD444 capable system with full digital dirt and scratch concealment control."
