KEO Brings TV And Digital Work Together Under New Cross-Platform Head

KEO digital has appointed Joanna Haslam as Senior Multiplatform Producer as part of a strategic step by the KEO group to further strengthen the integration between its multi-award-winning TV production and digital arms.
Joanna will initially take the digital lead on the continuing growth of KEO's integrated broadcast and online campaign, Hugh's Fish Fight, where she will be working closely with both Will Anderson, the Series Producer, and Nick Underhill, KEO's digital's Managing Director.
Joanna has extensive experience following her work as a cross-platform producer for the likes of Channel 4, Endemol and the BBC. She recently worked with Channel 4 as the Online Editor on the interactive documentary series Seven Days, for which she was responsible for the online video content and the implementation of a social media campaign across Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Joanna has also acted as a consultant for independent digital production companies Calabash Films and Naked and Social.
Zam Baring, Managing Director, KEO Group, said: "KEO is having an excellent year: our TV series' and cross-platform campaigns have pulled in strong audiences both onscreen and online, they've garnered critical acclaim and are also starting to pick up an award or two. The Fish Fight campaign in particular is very clear proof that when the idea is right, giving a TV audience somewhere to go online that is deeply integrated with the programming but also has plenty of new compelling things to see and do, can have an extremely potent impact - nearly one percent of the UK population has so far signed-up to support the ban on fish discards, a subject not many of them can have throughout about much before. Looking to the future, we want to strengthen the ties between our TV and our digital output, and Joanna's understanding of the multiplatform market and what works as online content will prove a real asset in achieving that."
Joanna Haslam, Senior Multiplatform Producer, KEO digital, added: "I'm really looking forward to working with the team at KEO, a company whose projects not only entertain but seek to make a difference and encourage active participation from the audience through the effective use of multiplatform tools."
KEO has received widespread support from both the general public and fishing industry for the integrated broadcast and online campaign for Hugh's Fish Fight. The campaign now has over half a million sign-ups and continues to grow, and has reeled in celebrity support including Jamie Oliver and Stephen Fry. Its success has been recognised with a strong of nomination including the 'Digital Creativity' award at this year's BAFTA Craft Awards and Best Multiplatform Project award at this year's Broadcast Digital Awards.
KEO has recently followed its 2011 RTS Best Documentary Series award for Welcome to Lagos with two nominations at this year's TV BAFTA Awards. The multi-award-winning Welcome to Lagos is up for the Best Factual Series award, whilst Hugh's Fish Fight is nominated for the Best Features Documentary.
