PINNACLE Systems have followed up last year’s ‘Guide to Video Editing’ booklet by producing an online guide on its web site.
Designed to help new and existing video editing users, ‘The Beginners’ Guide To Video’ can be found on guide/intro.asp.
Divided into six sections the guide begins by explaining in easily understood terms what video editing is all about. Tips are included on filming the video, downloading it to the PC, arranging scenes, adding effects, music and titles and outputting it follow. The next section focuses on carrying out easy video editing with Pinnacle’s own Studio software and finally gives a useful glossary of the terms commonly used in video editing.
Those interested in video editing have the opportunity to order a demo CD.
The guide aims to be objective and practical in its delivery, offering beginners a rounded knowledge of video editing, steering them via hints and tips towards completing their video projects.
Serge Bussat, Vice President Europe, Pinnacle Systems, said the original ‘Guide To Digital Video Editing’ had been translated into six different languages and had proved very popular. He said: “It made perfect sense, therefore to transfer the idea to our website, from where it can be easily accessed, to help people who are actually sitting at their PCs, about to launch their first video editing project. The online guide will virtually hold the hands of beginners and it goes into enough detail to provide useful advice to even experienced video editors.”
Currently, the online ‘Beginners’ Guide To Video’ is only available in English, but Pinnacle say that by the end of November it will have been translated into German, French, Dutch, Spanish and Italian.
