‘SHARKSKIN’ SWIMSUIT FILM SCOOPS AWARD

JVC’S Pro DV format was used to film part of a video news story awarded a top honour at Britain’s public relations industry awards.
PR Week awarded the ‘Best Use of Broadcast’ award to PR 21 a company promoting the Speedo one-piece swimsuit which caused a stir at the Sydney Olympics.
Two JVC DY-DV500 professional DV camcorders were used to capture footage at the Natural History Museum and at Speedo’s head office in Nottingham.
Sean Curtis-Ward (pictured), the Managing Director of International News Productions, said: “We bought two of the DV-500 camcorders and have found them to be an excellent piece of kit and a format we can really enjoy shooting on.”
Pro DV footage was also included in another TNR story short-listed for an award about fashion designer suits with actual pockets for mobile phone units built in.
Some 840 TV stations, including the BBC, screened the sharkskin swimsuit footage around the world.
