Scottish Screen’s CEO on final leg of fact finding tour

Ken Hay, CEO of Scottish Screen, will be in Dundee on Wednesday October 5 and and Thursday October 6 in the final part of his five city fact-finding tour on behalf of Scotland’s screen industries.
During a packed two days he will meet representatives from the games and animation industry as well as academics and councillors from the city and beyond.
Speaking from Scottish Screen’s HQ in Glasgow, Ken Hay said: “There has been a perception hitherto that Scottish Screen is a central belt organisation only interested in what was going on in Glasgow and Edinburgh. I am keen to dispel that notion and I am looking forward to being in Dundee which is recognised as the Scottish capital of the games industry as well as being the training ground for some of the most creative animators and graphic designers in Scotland. I am delighted to be going to Dundee to speak to as wide a group of people as I can over the two days.
"This is just part of the listening process I have embarked on which will inform Scottish Screen’s drive and direction over the next few years, as methods of production, delivery and exhibition change so dramatically. It is certainly true to say that you no longer have to live in the central belt to be able to pursue a career in the screen industries. I am greatly looking forward to meeting and talking to the people this fascinating area of the east coast.”
Ken Hay’s visit to Dundee begins with a visit to CSV Dundee Media Access and he will host a dinner for around thirty people representing all areas of the screen industries and the city at the DCA in the evening.
