New faces at Scottish Screen to drive fresh approach

Scottish Screen has appointed two new communications professionals to join
their Inward Investment and Communications team based in Glasgow.
Linsey Denholm will head up the new Communications team when she joins in
June 2006 from Children in Scotland, where she is currently Communications
Manager. Linsey, who has a number of years experience in the publishing
industry, will report to Celia Stevenson, Head of Inward Investment and
Communications.
Christine McMillan is now in post as Communications Officer. Christine
joins Scottish Screen from Standard Life, where she has held a number of
communications roles.
These appointments come as Scottish Screen's Chief Executive, Ken Hay,
announced a fresh new approach to driving forward a successful screen
industry in Scotland. This includes: prioritising education, skills and
audience development; working more closely with local authorities; and
formalising relationships with key partners including Skillset.
Celia Stevenson, Head of Inward Investment and Communications, said: "These
new appointments demonstrate Scottish Screen¹s ongoing commitment to
developing a first class Scottish film industry that can compete on the
world stage."
Ken Hay, Chief Executive commented on the forthcoming merger with the
Scottish Arts Council: "We are working closely with the Scottish Arts
Council and the Scottish Executive in paving the way for establishing
Creative Scotland over the next two years. In the meantime our primary
responsibility continues to be in driving forward screen industry policy and
seizing the opportunities we have available."
