blue make an impression at Soho Shorts

Full-service facility blue has completed full postproduction for ‘Mercy’, which won the Short Film Festival main Award at the recent Rushes Soho Shorts Festival.
Directed by Candida Scott-Knight and produced by Emily Man Productions, the film tells the story of Ben, a young boy who is bullied at school and neglected at home by his heroin-addicted mother. Ben becomes deeply traumatised when an associate of his mother's locks him in an isolated warehouse overnight in an attempt to force her to work. Driven beyond endurance by the harsh adult world he lives in, he finds a chilling resolution to his problems and gets revenge all round.
The production team looked to blue to create the look and audio for the film. Freelancer Adam Rudd completed the offline edit and Anne Trotman carried out the effects work, and created the title sequence in Flame. Jonathan Lieb completed the grade and Arge (Ian Hargest) finished the audio using ProTools.
“blue’s like a home from home for me, and I love working with the team there,” said Candida Scott-Knight, director. “They’re an incredibly talented bunch and always pull out all the stops to ensure that the job gets done well.
