Aardmann Animation purchases first Pyramix system

Bristol based Aardmann Animation, famous for triple Oscar winning 'Wallace and Gromit', 'Chicken Run' and many other hit films, have purchased a Pyramix system from Merging Technologies’ UK distributor Total Audio Solutions.
The system will be used for track laying for broadcast and was chosen for its compatibility with other Bristol post-production facilities used by Aardmann which are predominantly equipped with Pyramix.
The setup consists of a postproduction system with integrated video capture playout, analogue and AES/EBU audio i/O and dual removable SCSI. Software comprises the full post pack which includes OMF, AAF, AES31, AKAI etc. Total Audio also supplied a JL Cooper MCS3400 4 fader/jog shuttle command station, Dynaudio speakers and a KVM Extender by Adder Technologies.
Total Audio Solutions’ Business Manager Paul Mortimer said: “We are very pleased that one of the best names in British animation is now investing in Pyramix. This has been largely due to Bristol, the biggest post-production centre outside London, having taken to the system in such a big way.”
