Belgium broadcaster Vmma goes digital with SSL's C100 Console

Solid State Logic has supplied a 48-fader C100 digital production console to Vmma (Vlaamse Media Maatschappij), Belgium’s largest commercial broadcaster for the country’s Flemish speaking population.
Vmma has been in operation for 17 years, formerly under the name of VTM. It broadcasts three cable television channels and operates a national radio station from its headquarters in Brussels.
The new C100 console is destined for the facility’s main Production control room, which is shared by two television studios and is currently being refurbished to enable it to handle HD broadcasting. It will replace one of the three analogue SSL SL5000 consoles that the facility has been using for the last 12 years for TV news and general production.
Chris Wolters, Unit Manager - Radio, chose the C100 after a lengthy deliberation process that involved demo-ing a number of different manufacturer’s products.
“Our decision was based on three key factors – the quality of the C100 console, the price and the superb back-up we knew we would get from SSL and from Raf Lenssens, head of SSL’s Belgium dealer Joystick Audio,” he says. “The C100 is now a proven product having been on the market for a while and we feel confident that it is the right choice for us because it is so fast and flexible.”

Introduced at NAB 2003, the SSL claim that the C100 Digital Broadcast Console has had unprecedented broadcast sales success around the world.
