REDWOOD Studios have recently installed a Mackie D8B digital mixing console, now being used to make a DVD version of the Python film classic ‘Jabberwocky’.
Directed by Terry Gillam, the film's stars include Michael Palin, now also well known for his travel documentaries.
Andre Jaquemin, MD at Redwood, has worked on all the Python films since the ‘Holy Grail’ and was nominated for a BAFTA for the sound on ‘The Meaning of Life’.
The DVD version of ‘Jabberwocky’ has a completely re-recorded soundtrack in full 5.1 surround.
Jaquemin is always in demand and he is also working on three other projects including a new movie called ‘The Mumbo Jumbo’, directed by Steve Cookson. The film is a live action comedy with an all star cast featuring Jamie Walters, Joss Ackland, Brian Blessed, Richard O’Brien and Melinda Messenger.
Jaquremin said: ‘The Mackie Digital desk was my first choice, mainly because it is quick and very easy to use. Mackie’s terrific back up also had a strong influence in my decision.
The Mackie D8B chosen by Redwood has 72 channels and 56 inputs. All of the A/D and D/A converters are 24-bit. (CD
