Satcom select Scopus E-1720 DSNG Encoder

Satcom GmbH, one of the leading providers of DSNG services in Europe, has selected Scopus Network Technologies’ CODICO® E-1720 DSNG Encoder for its easyLINK service.
Launched in November 2004 throughout Europe the service caters for the rapidly expanding mobile digital satellite transmission market.
Satcom conducted extensive field-tests throughout Germany and Austria with German Television Channel II (ZDF), Hessischer Rundfunk (HR) and SAT.1/Pro7, whereby the E-1720, was remotely controlled, including set-up and line-up. According to Thomas Becke General Manager at Satcom, "Scopus' E-1720 met and exceeded our expectations. The platform transmitted in all weather, in all formats and completed every task we set."
With the E-1720, Satcom is offering small, fully remote-control satellite systems for mounting on the roofs of cars and small vans. Equipped with its own remote-control transmitting and receiving technology, every ENG team is now able to send their programs from almost anywhere in Europe. The cost affordable system is made possible by the use of state-of-the-art telemetry which does not require an SNG operator on location.
The E-1720 comes embedded with L-band output as well as L-band monitoring to provide various satellite modulation schemes, includes ultra low latency mode, variable GOP, BISS-CA, DVB scrambling as well as built-in multiplexing capabilities, all, in a rugged, user-friendly unit to ensure the highest picture quality with steady low power consumption.
Alex Lior, Director of Scopus Germany said, "The E-1720 is a tremendous platform for the future of the DSNG market and we are proud to have it proven by Satcom, a technology leader in SNG services in the highly demanding German Broadcast market. In the wake of this success, we believe that other broadcasters will express interest in this platform."
