UNIVERSAL LAUNCH ‘MOVIE IN 100 SECONDS’

UNIVERSAL Studios Networks have launched their latest initiative for short films called 100mm, a movie in 100 seconds.
100mm, an innovative new format, is aimed at giving aspiring directors and producers the opportunity to make a 100 second film that will be aired on Universal’s movie channels in the UK – The Studio, Germany, Italy and Spain – Studio Universal.
Creative teams at The Studio and Studio Universal will commission the new format of shorts from filmmakers in each territory. Approximately 25-30 100mm movies will be made in the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain per year and the finished films will be aired on digital movie channels internationally. 100mm is an on-going project and Universal expects to have established an archive of over 300 films within three years.
The 100mm project will also include the chance for filmmakers to enter national competitions by submitting their original script ideas. Winners from each country will spend ten days at Working Title Films production office in London. (CD)
