VFGadgets introduce heavy duty camera handles

VFGadgets has introduced a very versatile series of heavy duty handles for the Sony F900, the Sony PDW530 XDCAM and the Panasonic VariCam cameras - developed and manufactured by Precision Camera Inc. in Canada.
The fourth handle in this series is well into development for the Sony HDW-750 camera. The handles were originally designed for use by camera rental houses in Toronto. They needed something that was both light and tough, with a strong adjustable viewfinder mount system for their cameras. The 24mm dovetail shoe mount is on a solid adjustable post set in the front of each heavy-duty handle. This design eliminates any torque from extension viewfinder arms or just everyday wear from normal use. Each of these handles also work with the rugged and economical PCI Viewfinder Extension Arm System.
All the heavy-duty handles are constructed from 7075 grade hard-anodised aluminium weighing in at only 32oz each. Each is designed to be completely electronics ready. The PCI series of handles offer more cooling vents (with filters behind each vent) than the original camera handles. They all have plenty of 3/8" & 1/4" threads on the top for various mounting needs. The flat top of the handles are parallel to the camera lens for direct mounting of a Steady Cam for low angle set up's - no cage is required. Another use is to mount the camera to a fluid head that is upside down on a mini jib for those low angle shots as well. How tough are these handles? They have a lifetime guarantee against breakage and/or stripping of the thread mounts.
The heavy duty handle for the Sony XDCAM offers a heat sink built into the back of the handle for even better cooling. The Assign Switches, which were on the top of the original XDCAM handle, have been placed on the base of the new heavy-duty handle, in the front, for better protection, eliminating accidental use.
The new F900 heavy-duty handle is recommended by Accuscene as sturdy enough for their VF120S HD colour viewfinder.
These heavy-duty handles offer higher levels of protection and new versatility of use for the Sony F900, XDCAM and Panasonic VariCam Cameras.
