WELT TV and SES Extend Multi-Year Satellite Distribution Agreement

SES and WELT TV have renewed their partnership in a new multi-year agreement for satellite distribution in Germany. Running into the next decade, the agreement ensures the continued delivery of Welt HD and N24 Doku via SES's satellites at 19.2 degrees East, with Welt HD remaining part of the HD+ offering and N24 Doku available free-to-air.

"SES has been a reliable partner for the distribution of our channels for many years. By extending the agreement, we are ensuring that our quality journalism and documentaries reach a broad audience. We look forward to continuing this successful partnership, which ensures the reliable delivery of Welt HD and N24 Doku at the highest standard," said Thorsten Prohm, Chief Technical Officer at WELT TV.

"The extension of our partnership with WELT TV reflects the continued value broadcasters place on satellite distribution to reach audiences at scale across Germany," said Christoph Mühleib, Vice President, Central & Eastern Europe & UK at SES. "Access to trusted news, reports and documentaries remains essential for viewers across the country. Through our satellites at 19.2 degrees East, we will continue to provide the reach, reliability and service quality that help broadcasters make that content available to millions of households in Germany."
