Wooden Camera Unveils Modular Cage And Accessories For Sony FX5

Wooden Camera has introduced a purpose-built cage and accessory ecosystem for the Sony FX5, providing a flexible platform to tailor the compact cinema camera to a wide range of production needs.

At the centre of the range is a low-profile, modular cage featuring an integrated dovetail that enables tool-free moves between bridge plates and gimbals, while keeping the footprint small for handheld and run‑and‑gun work.

For gimbal users, the 13mm Bolt‑On ARCA – DJI RS Quick‑Release Plate bolts directly to the cage and interfaces with DJI RS‑series systems, allowing rapid transitions between handheld, gimbal and other support configurations without rebuilding the camera.

The lineup expands lens and accessory support for professional workflows. E‑mount to PL and E‑mount to LPL adapters let FX5 operators deploy PL and LPL cinema lenses, with dedicated lens supports adding stability for larger optics across gimbal and traditional cinema rigs.

Power options include battery slide solutions for both Gold Mount and V‑Mount, delivering extended run times while keeping builds streamlined. Adjustable mounting lets users position batteries around their chosen lens, monitoring and wireless set‑ups.

Scalability ranges from a lightweight half‑cage to a fully built cinema configuration using the Wooden Camera Elite Cage System. Additional mounting points accommodate monitors, wireless video, articulating arms, lens motors and other on‑set accessories.
