First Baptist Nashville Upgrades Production Communications

First Baptist Nashville has upgraded its production communications as part of a wider technology renovation at its historic downtown sanctuary.

The project, led by systems integrator Mankin Media, incorporates a Clear-Com intercom system centred on the company's Arcadia Central Station. The installation combines wired and wireless communications to support worship services and special events across the church's 1,200-seat facility.

First Baptist Nashville, which has served downtown Nashville for more than 200 years, recently completed an audiovisual renovation intended to modernise its worship technology while retaining the character of its more than 50-year-old sanctuary.

The broader upgrade includes new audio, video, lighting and communications systems. The new intercom infrastructure is designed to allow production personnel to coordinate activities throughout the facility during weekly services and larger events.

The Clear-Com system uses Arcadia Central Station as its central hub, alongside HelixNet Digital Partyline beltpacks, a HelixNet Remote Station and FreeSpeak II wireless beltpacks.

The combination of wired and wireless communications gives production teams flexibility across different areas of the sanctuary while providing a platform that can accommodate future production requirements.

The communications upgrade forms part of First Baptist Nashville's longer-term investment in production technology. The new systems are intended to support worship services, special events and other ministry activities as the church's production needs evolve.

The project also allows the church to introduce modern communications technology without requiring major changes to the historic sanctuary, integrating the new infrastructure within the wider audiovisual renovation.
