Rebellion Festival Powers Blackpool

News Image
Billed as the UK's largest independently run punk gathering, Rebellion returned to Blackpool’s historic Winter Gardens for four days, presenting more than 300 live acts over six stages and drawing tens of thousands of fans, performers and artists from around the world.

For this year's edition, Martin Audio's Wavefront Precision line arrays were deployed across the venue’s key spaces, including the grand Ballroom, the Olympia Room (rebranded as Club Casbah) and the Conference Room, delivering the power and control required for the punk-heavy bill.

Liverpool-based dBS Solutions supplied the systems. "In the main Ballroom, we deployed an all–Martin Audio system centred on WPL large-format line arrays," explained James Roberts of dBS Solutions. "Club Casbah featured a WPC system, and we worked with the Winter Gardens team to manage and supplement their existing WPS system installed in the Conference Room."

The Ballroom specification comprised 10 WPL elements per side, supported by 12 SXH218 subwoofers in a cardioid castle wall configuration. Four pairs of WPS provided front-fill, with a pair of FlexPoint FP12 cabinets as outfills. On stage, XE500 floor monitors handled artist monitoring, while TORUS constant curvature arrays were ground-stacked on SXC118 subs as side fills on each side.

At Club Casbah, the setup featured 10 WPC elements per side with eight SXH218 subs in a cardioid configuration, and six XE300 wedges for monitors. In the Conference Room, the in-house system of 12 WPS elements per side was augmented with dBS-supplied FlexPoint FP12 cabinets for stage monitoring.
