SIDE EFFECTS SOFTWARE PLAN TO RELEASE HOUDINI SELECT

SIDE EFFECTS Software have announced their plans to release Houdini Select, a new 3D animation product based on Houdini’s award-winning procedural technology.
Houdini Select appeals to animation professionals in the digital content creation industry who seek the same power and productivity benefits of Houdini, the software used in many high profile projects from Hollywood and around the world.
For many years, Houdini has provided high levels of productivity for small, medium and large facilities.

Houdini Select includes complete modelling, animation, texturing and integrated rendering with Houdini Mantra. Its powerful new immersive interface will allow artists to work in a familiar interactive manner, but gain the full benefit of the procedural approach.
Houdini Select will be compatible with Houdini, enabling facilities to seamlessly expand their capabilities at any time. The full Houdini product includes character tools, powerful effects, integrated compositing, the development kit, and a wider range of rendering options. Existing Houdini customers can cost-effectively add additional seats to their pipelines, while enjoying full and seamless integration and co-existence.
Houdini Select runs on NT, Linux, Irix and Solaris. It will be beta tested throughout the remainder of 2001 and will ship simultaneously with Houdini 5 in early 2002. (CD)
