DHD To Celebrate 30 Years Of Audio Innovation
Celebrating the 30th anniversary of its foundation, DHD will promote the latest additions to its wide range of audio production consoles, signal processing cores and supporting software at the September 11th-14th 2026 International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam.
Highlight of the DHD exhibit at stand 8.B46 will be a new third-generation audio mixing console, scheduled to make its worldwide debut. The new control surface retains the modularity which has long been a central aspect of DHD design, extending this to a new level of operational versatility and interface flexibility. Fully compatible with DHD's established third-generation signal processing cores, it gives DHD system owners the freedom to modernise their audio facilities easily and affordably.
DHD stand 8.B46 will also host demonstrations of latest generation version 10.4 firmware including new features enhancing the capabilities of DX2, RX2, SX2 and TX2 audio mixers, XC3, XD3 and XS3 IP cores. New V10.4 operating features include
• Flex Channels enables DHD operators to access input sources from a pre-assigned input list rather than from the pool of fader channels, meaning easier routing across complex installations.
• Channel Categories for fader channels allows operators to perform faster navigation of large or complex audio production systems.
• Mic Preamp Control enables the input gain of a remote microphone preamp to be set directly from the console touchscreen, Views App or Control API.
• Audio-over-IP timing ensures more robust redundant clock synchronisation across the DHD audio system. PTP logging enhancements include adoption of the industry-standard Syslog protocol.
Additionally making its IBC debut will be DHD's Routing App which provides secure local or remote control over a processing core's entire input/output channel configuration. Individual crosspoint matrices can be created and displayed graphically, proving a fast overview at any level of complexity. Matrices can be saved as presets for rapid selection and instant recall.
Control API gives easy access to AES67/Ravenna interfaces within a DHD system. A secure license-free alternative to NMOS and Ember+, the API allows full control over stream parameters, interface settings and related functions, secured via access-tokens and TLS/HTTPS.
DHD's Discovery is a new tray app that shows every DHD device from the moment it comes online, including DHD cores, RM1 broadcast-from-anywhere interfaces and audio-over-IP devices connected via AES67/Ravenna or Dante. Also on demonstration will be a pre-launch version of DHD MIDI which allows MIDI-based or MCU-based control of DAWs, and video editing software such as Adobe Premiere, directly from DHD hardware.
AI-based audio noise reduction has proved a powerful option of DHD audio systems and will be demonstrated at IBC. Based on technology developed by ai-acoustics, this preserves each speaker's natural identity and timbre while helping reduce background distractions in voice channels such as sports commentaries, or traffic noise from outdoor news reports.
