Profuz Digital Unveils Upgraded Lapis And SubtitleNext With AI

Profuz Digital is rolling out new versions of its Lapis media management platform and SubtitleNext at IBC2026, bringing AI-driven search, expanded archiving options and streamlined workflows.

The refreshed Lapis introduces AI-assisted search spanning all data types, lifecycle-aware archiving, and multi-source analysis that blends speech recognition, face detection and content fingerprinting.

Additional updates cover S3 Glacier integration, file-duplication checking, live subtitle stream generation, ElevenLabs API integration, automatic content fingerprinting, image extraction from high-resolution video, multilingual rich-text fields and marker customisation.

SubtitleNext now supports IMSCR import and export to fit localisation and production pipelines, adds HiDPI display support, and introduces a Movie File Burn Expert Plugin for subtitle burn-in with video conversion across multiple formats and resolutions.
