Zixi And Ateme Expand Alliance To Speed IP And Cloud Migration
Zixi and Ateme have broadened their strategic collaboration to accelerate broadcasters' and content owners' shift from satellite to resilient IP and cloud-based operations. The enhanced partnership moves beyond parallel selling to joint solution design and go-to-market, with a particular emphasis on premium live event contribution and distribution.
Amid rising satellite costs, limited transponder capacity and growing demand for large-scale live experiences, the combination of Ateme's encoding efficiency with Zixi's reliable, protocol-agnostic transport provides an end-to-end alternative for contribution, distribution and delivery across on-premises, hybrid and fully cloud environments.
"This is a shift from selling alongside each other to building solutions together," said Marc Aldrich, CEO, Zixi. "Our customers don't want two vendors and two roadmaps. They want one integrated workflow they can trust for their most important live moments. By aligning our engineering, our go-to-market, and our commercial models with Ateme, we're removing friction and giving the market a clear, resilient path off legacy satellite and into the cloud."
Rather than mandating a disruptive rip-and-replace, the joint approach lets operators complement existing satellite infrastructure with managed IP paths to boost resilience, add capacity and reduce distribution costs. Ateme's bandwidth-efficient encoding, combined with Zixi's error-corrected, multi-path transport, delivers broadcast-grade reliability over commodity networks, offering a low-risk on-ramp to a hybrid satellite-plus-IP model.
Designed for live sport and other premium live programmes, the integrated workflow is built around quality and reliability under real-world network conditions, supporting low-latency contribution and distribution at scale so high-value feeds can be moved securely and consistently over any distance.
"Zixi and Ateme share a commitment to openness and flexibility that help customer evolve their workflows without disruption" said Julien Mandel, Senior Solution Director for Contribution and Distribution at Ateme. "Pairing Ateme's industry leading encoding efficiency with Zixi's transport, we're helping customers improve quality, optimize bandwidth, and transition from satellite to resilient IP workflows at their own pace."
As media operations continue to pivot from capital-intensive hardware to flexible, software-defined and cloud-native models, the companies are aligning technologies and solution strategies to give customers a clear, unified migration path. Teams can move contribution, processing and delivery into the cloud step by step, maintaining quality and operational control while gaining elasticity and lowering total cost of ownership.
The announcement also introduces a revamped commercial framework featuring coordinated solution engineering, aligned account planning, co-selling and shared reference architectures. This partner-led model is intended to simplify procurement, speed deployment and provide a single accountable solution rather than isolated point products.
Zixi and Ateme will demonstrate joint solutions at IBC 2026, RAI Amsterdam, from 11–14 September: Hall 5 on the Zixi stand (5.A76) and Hall 1 on the Ateme stand (1.D55).
