Christie Entero World's First SXGA And WUXGA LED Videowall Display At IBC

Christie, a global leader in visual solutions for business, entertainment and industry, are presenting at IBC 2009 the world's first LED-based SXGA+ and WUXGA resolution projection display system, purpose built for control room and videowall applications.
The new Christie Entero LED is a pioneering, LED-illuminated, 1-chip DLP product line that features a "zero maintenance" design. The LEDs are rated at 60,000 hours– almost seven years of dependable operation. With no consumable components such as lamps, filters or color wheels to replace, the Christie Entero LED delivers the ultimate in uninterrupted, 24/7 performance for exceptional reliability and low cost of ownership.
Utilising the new generation of solid state LED technology, the Christie Entero LED projection system sets new standards in control rooms with extremely long life. Since LEDs retain their colour spectral characteristics longer, images remain vivid and sharp through years of operation. LEDs also provide more accurate color matching and a wider range of brightness control and adjustments. In addition, the red, green and blue LEDs can be sequenced at higher rates than those of a mechanical colour wheel, keeping any visible artifacts to a minimum.
Christie Entero LED projection units feature built-in Christie LiteLOC and Christie ColorLOC for automatic, independent brightness and colour management. They also feature Christie ArrayLOC, an innovative technology that automatically matches colour and brightness levels for every cube, across the entire display wall, on a continuous basis.
The result is the perfect control room solution for videowalls of any size, without the need for constant maintenance and adjustments, which disrupt operation and lead to unproductive downtime.
"The new Christie Entero line of LED-based rear projection modules has no equal in the industry for long life and dependability. They are as close to ‘worry free’ as you can get in a videowall display solution," remarked Jim Gavloski, director of product management at Christie. "It marks a major new development in reliable, high-performance videowall solutions that are easier to maintain and more economical to operate."
With 600 ANSI lumens of brightness, the Christie Entero LED projection engine is capable of illuminating Christie’s 50”, 67” and 72” display cube platforms. In addition, these cube platforms feature superior cross prism optical screen technology for higher brightness and wider angles of view. Sealed optics eliminate the need for dust filters, while innovative "heat pipe" cooling technology minimises audible noise.
"Christie brings a depth of industry experience in designing, manufacturing, installing and maintaining every facet of a control room and videowall display," noted Gavloski. "We provide the full range of solutions, from complete videowall and control room set-ups customised to the customers' precise specifications, to the skillful retrofitting of nearly any videowall system in settings where downtime is not an option."
Christie control room solutions are found at such iconic sites as the NASDAQ OMX MarketSite videowall (the "face" of the world's largest electronic stock exchange) to the massive AT&T Global Network Operations Centre, which features a record 141 Christie rear projection modules.
Jim Gavloski, director of product management, and David Griffiths, EMEA market development manager control rooms at Christie will also present in detail the newly-launched Entero – the first “industrial” LED powered displays shipping in today's market designed specifically 24/7 reliability in mission critical applications – at the IBC Technical forum.
See the new line of Christie Entero LED SXGA+ (1400 x 1050) and WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution LED-based control room products at IBC, on the Christie stand (Hall 11, Stand F61) and in the Production Village (Hall 9).
