Fuji TV Deploys Mediaproxy Multiviewer

News Image
Mediaproxy, the Melbourne-based specialist in software IP video capture and multiviewing, has supplied its LogServer and Monwall tools to Fuji TV to support coverage of a recent large-scale international sporting event.

By shifting monitoring to the cloud and using Monwall for live multi-viewing, the rollout cut the expense and logistical challenges of transporting equipment and crews to multiple overseas venues, while helping deliver high-quality television programmes.

As part of the project, Fuji TV built a cloud-based video transport system that relies on public internet rather than solely on costly dedicated distribution lines. Feeds from SRT- and NDI-based systems at the venues were ingested into cloud-hosted LogServer running Monwall Server, which generated low-latency streaming outputs in various formats. The mosaic feeds were then sent via SRT to the local broadcast centre and the Tokyo line centre for monitoring. To streamline operations, LogServer was hosted on cloud servers located in Europe.

Fuji TV commented: "The deciding factor in adopting Mediaproxy was that video transmission to the Monwall multiviewer via SRT was extremely stable. Furthermore, the Monwall Editor, which is used to create Multiviewer screens, is very user-friendly, allowing us to create the screens necessary for operation with minimal training. We look forward to continuing to work with Mediaproxy in the future."

Erik Otto, CEO of Mediaproxy, said: "It is a great honor to be involved in the implementation of a cloud-based broadcast system for Fuji TV, one of Japan's leading broadcasters. We look forward to further deepening our relationship with Fuji TV and are excited about future developments."
