Matrox Video To Showcase IP And Software-Defined Media Technologies

Matrox Video will showcase its portfolio of interoperable IP technologies and software-defined media solutions at IBC 2026, as the company marks its 50th anniversary.

The event will take place from September 11 to 14 at the RAI Amsterdam, where broadcasters, OEMs, live production companies and live event AV professionals will be able to explore Matrox Video's latest technologies at booth 7.B15.

The company will highlight IP technologies based on open standards, alongside Matrox ORIGIN, its asynchronous media framework designed to support software-defined media production. The platform supports the Media eXchange Layer (MXL) and is intended to help organisations develop Distributed Media Fabric (DMF) workflows.

Matrox Video's portfolio covers a range of IP media applications, including remote production and contribution, production monitoring, signal conversion, media transport and IP KVM for secure remote operator access.

Products on display will include Monarch EDGE, which provides low-latency REMI and contribution encoding and decoding, and ConvertIP, which enables real-time bridging between SDI, HDMI, HDBaseT, ST 2110 and IPMX.

The company will also showcase Maevex MGX for low-latency AV-over-IP encoding and decoding, along with Vion, which provides IP gateway functions including encoding, decoding, transcoding and protocol conversion.

Avio 2 will demonstrate IP KVM capabilities within broadcast IP environments, using IPMX, SMPTE ST 2110 and NMOS. The technology is designed to provide interoperability with existing IP production infrastructure, centralised management and scalable KVM workflows without the need for a separate proprietary network.

Matrox ORIGIN will also feature prominently at the event. Supporting MXL, the framework enables broadcasters, OEMs and developers to create interoperable DMF workflows and exchange media between applications.

By separating media processing from dedicated hardware, Matrox says the technology can help organisations develop more flexible and scalable production infrastructures while making it easier to integrate new technologies and adapt workflows to changing operational requirements.
